Jake’s Journey” was started by friends of ours that ride motorcycles in our area. The ride was originally expected to have about 20 to 30 motorcycles in attendance, we were overwhelmed with over 100 bikes.
Before we knew what happened, word was out and we started getting donations and calls about the ride.
The phrase “Jake’s Journey” came from one of our friends. It was perfect and best described what would be the beginning of Jake’s life dealing with MAS.
The ride was organized with help of our friends. Registration and kitchen help were all handled by family and friends. They staffed the registration table, prepared food, drinks and desserts. We wrote letters to businesses and posted flyers to spread the word. We had so many items donated, it was very overwhelming.
The ride started and ended at our local fire company. The entire day was a success. Everyone that attended had a great time, the weather was perfect. We tried to talk with everyone there, but that was an impossible task. We have already begun to organize the ride again for this year. We’ll keep you posted here on the website if you’d like to participate. We hope to attract more riders and exceed everyone’s expectations.
Thanks to so many! We never realized how many friends we have and support from the entire community. We are so thankful for everything that has been done for Jake and our family. We are truly blessed in many ways. |
